Surface-specific cleaning
Pressure and treatment are adjusted for sandstone, concrete, porcelain and other suitable materials.
Loose slab assessment
Rocking or poorly supported slabs are identified before they become a larger trip or jointing problem.
Lift and reset where suitable
Individual loose slabs can be lifted and rebedded where this is practical and included in the quotation.
Failed-joint renewal
Loose or missing jointing can be removed and replaced with a suitable system after preparation.
Loose slabs and failed joints are not simply washed over
Extra pressure will not stabilise a moving slab. Where agreed, we can lift and reset localised loose paving, prepare the joint edges and replace failed pointing once the surface is ready.
Historic damage, widespread base failure or drainage defects are explained honestly before work proceeds.

Restoring an existing patio and decking in Bestwood
This Bestwood project combined patio cleaning with joint renewal and decking restoration. The patio was pressure cleaned, the old joints were cleaned out and re-grouted, and the adjacent decking was cleaned and re-stained.
The work was carried out by RMS Building & Landscaping Limited on surfaces that RMS had not originally installed. It is an example of restoring an existing outdoor area rather than assuming that the paving needs replacement.

Patio restoration in Keyworth
This Keyworth patio project was completed in June 2017 and shared again on our Facebook page. The photographs record the weathered paving before work, the cleaning stage and the finished patio.
Cleaning brought the colour and detail of the existing paving back into view. The sequence gives a practical example of assessing what can be restored before deciding to replace a patio.

Planning your patio restoration
Can you repoint a patio without lifting all the slabs?
Sound, stable paving may be suitable for joint renewal after preparation. Rocking or poorly supported slabs need assessment first, because fresh pointing cannot correct movement beneath them. The agreed work should identify any slabs that need lifting and resetting.
Will cleaning cure puddles or uneven levels?
Cleaning removes surface soiling; it does not change the fall of the patio or repair a failed base. Tell us where water gathers and photograph uneven areas. We assess whether a local repair is appropriate or whether drainage and construction need a wider review.
