What to expect when requesting exterior cleaning, restoration or paving finishing services from RMS.
Straight answers before you book
Planning an exterior clean
Every property and surface is different. These answers explain our usual quotation process and the practical details that can affect a project.
Have a different question?
Send your postcode, photographs and a short description. We can then answer in the context of your actual surface and access.
Ask for a quotationCan you quote from photographs?
Often, photographs give us enough information for an initial assessment. Larger, unusual or complex projects may need a site visit before work is confirmed.
Which areas do you cover?
We serve homes and properties across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, including Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield, Chesterfield and surrounding towns.
Will every stain disappear?
No responsible cleaner can guarantee every mark will be removed. Results depend on the surface, age, previous treatments and the type of staining. We set realistic expectations first.
Do all patios use the same process?
No. Natural stone, porcelain and concrete have different characteristics. We assess the material and joints before selecting the method.
Can block paving be re-sanded?
Suitable block paving can be re-sanded after cleaning once it is properly dry. This is discussed and quoted as part of the finishing work.
Do you offer repointing or sealing?
Yes, for suitable installations. Compatibility, joint condition, preparation, drying time and weather all need to be considered first.
What photographs should I send?
Include a wide view, close-ups of problem areas, access routes and any awkward edges or levels. Several clear images are more useful than one distant photograph.
Does weather affect the booking?
It can. Heavy rain, low temperatures or unsuitable drying conditions may affect cleaning, jointing or sealing, so timing may need to change.
Should the area be cleared?
Please mention large furniture, planters or restricted access when enquiring. We will explain what needs to be moved before the agreed work starts.
Send the details when you are ready
