Driveway or block paving cleaning: which service do you need?
Use this guide to choose between general driveway cleaning, block paving joint care and restoration before requesting your quotation.
Choose by material and condition
A driveway describes its use; block paving describes its construction
A driveway may be made from individual blocks, concrete or another hard surface. That distinction matters: cleaning a continuous surface does not involve the same joint care as cleaning paving blocks. Start with the material, then consider whether it is simply dirty or also damaged.
Our driveway cleaning service covers suitable hardstanding, while block paving cleaning and re-sanding explains care for individual blocks and their joints.
Ask for a photo quotation
Send your postcode, a short description and a few clear photographs. We will review the access, approximate area and surface condition before discussing the next step.

Choose the route that matches the problem
Dirt on a sound driveway
If the surface is sound and the concern is dirt or organic build-up, begin with driveway cleaning. Mention staining and previous coatings so the assessment can consider treatment suitability.
Blocks with depleted joints
For individual paving blocks with joint-sand loss, explore block paving cleaning. Appropriate dry re-sanding is a finishing stage, distinct from washing the surface.
Movement or sunken paving
If the drive has dropped or blocks move, use the driveway restoration or block paving restoration guide. A wash or a top-up of sand will not correct a bedding defect.

Still unsure which service to choose?
You do not need to diagnose the surface before contacting RMS. Send photographs and describe the result you want. We can review the enquiry and explain whether cleaning, joint care or a restoration assessment is appropriate.
